I just moved to the area, used to play volleyball in college but no longer do and would love to get back into it because I love it so much. Wondering if there were any tournaments this summer or if there is anywhere where you can join a team?!

Today I saw the kind of friends I have. Thirty of us coming together to support one of our own. The energy in that courtroom was more powerful than anything I have ever experienced. Our presence there was felt through the walls of that cold building and into the hearts of those that were holding the faith of our friend. I hope I hope I grow old with all of you around.

I'm taking a vacation in the South Beach this March (3/1 thru 3/3) and I would love to get in on the volleyball action.
A little bit of myself, I play volleyball for the NYC League (New York Urban Professionals Athletic League) and NJ's League - Spike League.
I play women's and reverse doubles. I'm a left spiker and I also set (both 5-1 and 6-2).

Do I need to sign up to play? If so where and when?

Willie: Great seeing you Saturday. I have been out of VB for years and I have so much to say. First and foremost, THIS IS FANTASTIC. In the 90s, the courts kept us all in shape, focused and off of drugs. In 1999, I moved back to where I grew up in Tennessee to be with my family. But I moved back here three years later when I realized that this is my home. My best friends on earth all came from "Our VB community." My heroes are Long Haired Dave, Albert, Manny, Sam, Jerri and everyone else who immediately and unconditionally accepted me into their home the day I stumbled onto the court. And seeing so many names unknown to me that have signed the guestbook is a testament to the value of volleyball and I am thrilled that the City of MB is finally taking notice. Hell, even Holly McPeak signed. My attached picture includes my sons Asa (8) and Spencer (5). I doubt I will ever be in VB shape again but maybe I can still dream vicariously through my sons. If I can ever regain a little focus, I will call Bernie about bringing the boys out on Saturday mornings. Well, maybe every other Saturday as I am divorced and share custody with their mother.

Timeline Creator: I did not see your name noted but I'm sure I know you. Great work. Not sure what the disturbance was in the Force but Luke Skywalker is reincarnate in Willie and the Dark Side seemed banished when I visited Saturday.

Frank the Tank: When I read your self-described "short and fat," I thought for a moment that you were someone from our gang in the 90s. But when you further describe yourself as "cute face and still occasionally kicking ass" I realized that you couldn't be Frank Blanco. Regardless, take hope, you are not alone. I see Mike Davis often and he always tells me that "Fat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through Life." One would think he was talking about me accept that I am not a drunk.

Nelson: The 90's did rock but I visited the courts Saturday and they've got great game. More importantly, they've got "Bettys" the likes we never knew.

Bettys (collectively): If you happened to note my "divorced" status above and you can get past the fact that I am "fat and stupid," contact Willie. He can arrange for you to win a date with this hunk of burning love.

Holly McPeak: Don't despair. I wrote that to the other Bettys only to give them hope. You are still the one I think about each night when I rest my head on the pillow. Twice on a good night.

Steve in Iraq: I don't know you but thanks. My heroes above pale in comparison to you. You are the reason I am able to rest my head on the pillow at night and think about Holly. Twice on a good night, again.
